Frame joint covers – wings

Frame joint covers – wings are aluminum profiles installed on casement and sliding parallel frames. The installation of these aluminum profiles is done at the edge of the frame (finishing) and their purpose is to cover the joints gaps between the frame casing and the masonry. Essentially, they cover the silicones and putties, offering a more aesthetic result. Also, in cases of frame replacement, they cover many of the repairs (masonry restoration work).

Frame joint covers – wings are installed only when the frame has been placed flush with the interior masonry (face to inner part) and cannot be installed when the frame is in the center of the reveal – masonry.

When taking measurements for frame construction, we leave a “breather” – a gap between the wall and the frame ranging from 5 millimeters to 2 centimeters on each side! This gap is filled with insulating materials (putties, foams, etc.). Frame joint covers conceal these gaps, consequently hiding the joints.

Frame joint covers are available in various sizes and are painted in the same colors as the frames.
