Sliding Shutters

Sliding shutters are divided into two main categories: recessed sliding shutters and exterior sliding shutters.

Recessed Sliding Shutters

Recessed Sliding Shutters

Recessed sliding shutters are structures installed (recessed) within the wall, usually along with a screen and shutter. You can find more information in the sliding aluminum frames section.

Exterior Sliding Shutters

Exterior Sliding Shutters

Exterior sliding shutters move from the outside and parallel to the wall. These are single-leaf and double-leaf constructions that require special attention when replaced.

Exterior sliding shutters, in most cases, have their upper part (the upper guide) supported by metal false frames (see photo). When replacing sliding shutters, the old false frames need replacement as well, because they are damaged due to age. If the new shutters are supported by the old false frames (without replacing them), there is a serious risk of collapse, as the new shutters are heavier. A second problem is that almost all frame offers you receive do not include the cost of replacing the old false frames, which should be agreed upon separately. Finally, even when replacing the old false frames, it is advisable for the new ones to be covered with aluminum profiles similar to the frames (see photos).
Exterior sliding shutters are practical constructions that can also include screens on the same track. Their only disadvantage compared to other shutters is lower security.
Sliding shutters can have either lily-type aluminum louvers or tulip-type aluminum louvers.
