Surcharges – color charges for frames, roller shutters, and screens

Frame Color Charges

The color we choose for our home’s windows and balcony doors is a decisive factor for its aesthetics and elegance. In this article, we will examine how various colors (glossy – RAL, Matt, Samble, Ammos collection – super durable, wood imitation) are charged (frame color charges – Color Surcharges) for aluminum frames, roller shutters, and screens. How much are colors charged for frames? What offers (color offers) are available from different companies for frame colors. Which colors incur surcharges and how much, as well as which colors are provided free of charge (without any surcharge – not charged).

First, it should be clarified that there is a different charge from aluminum profile manufacturing companies (Europa, Alumil, Etem, etc.) regarding the profiles used to construct windows and doors, roller shutters, and screens. This practically means that the percentage increase is different for profiles, roller shutters, and screens, which is why we will analyze them separately.

Furthermore, we should clarify that even if a profile manufacturing company (Europa, Alumil, Etem, etc.) offers a color (e.g., grey at the price of white), aluminum frame manufacturers charge a small surcharge (approximately 1-2%) due to waste and offcuts. Aluminum frame manufacturers purchase aluminum profiles in six-meter lengths. The pieces remaining during the cutting process (offcuts) are used in other projects if they are white (RAL 9010), because white is the most common color in frame constructions. If the offcuts are grey (e.g., RAL 7040), it is very difficult to reuse them in another project, which is why manufacturers always charge a small surcharge for colors other than white.

The basic color for all aluminum profile manufacturing companies (Europa, Alumil, Exalco, etc.) is glossy white (usually RAL 9010). A very small surcharge, around 2%, applies to glossy brown RAL 8014 and black RAL 9005. All other colors incur a surcharge, depending on their type. Europa currently has offers on several colors (RAL – Super Durable colors).

Color charges for aluminum profiles for doors and windows – How much are colors charged for frames?

Color charges for frames

The color charge for aluminum profiles for doors and windows (How much are colors charged for frames?) varies depending on the type of color (glossy, Matt, Samble, Metallic, wood imitation) and differs for each company (Europa, Alumil), so the numbers provided are indicative. It should be clarified here that aluminum frame manufacturers purchase their products by the kilogram, at a different price for each color. Therefore, a percentage price is indicative, because many factors determine the final prices of colored frames. Such factors include offcuts, as mentioned above, the color of the mechanisms, the paint shop, etc. We should also mention that the color prices we refer to concern only aluminum profiles for doors, windows, and shutters, and not for roller shutters, screens, and entrance doors, which will be discussed below. The color surcharges as a percentage are relative to white colors.

– Glossy RAL frame colors surcharge 10%

– Matt frame colors surcharge 15%

– Metallic frame colors 20 – 25%

– Samble – Textured and super durable frame colors 20 -30%

– Wood imitations for aluminum frames surcharge 35 – 40%

Color Charges for Roller Shutters and Screens for Colored Aluminum Frames

How much are colors charged for frames?

Roller shutters (heavy-duty aluminum profiles) and screens have a different charge – surcharge, compared to aluminum profiles for doors and windows. The following surcharges are indicative, because here too there are many factors that determine the final prices and vary for each company and for each color.

– Glossy RAL colors for roller shutters and screens 25%

– MATT colors for roller shutters and screens 30%

– Metallic colors for roller shutters and screens 50%

– Samble – Textured and super durable colors for roller shutters and screens 65%

– Wood imitation for roller shutters and screens surcharge 65 – 75 %

For aluminum roller shutters, there is a differentiation between heavy-duty louvered roller shutters (from aluminum profiles) and polyurethane aluminum louvered roller shutters. Polyurethane aluminum louvered roller shutters have different color charges. This is because there are some standardized and ready-made colors for polyurethane aluminum louvers. If you purchase colored polyurethane aluminum roller shutters with white boxes and guides from the ready-made standardized colors, the surcharge is approximately 2-5%. Color Charges for Entrance Doors and Aluminum Panels or Kitchen Doors

Frame Color Offers

The color charge for entrance doors and aluminum panels or kitchen doors is different from that for profiles, roller shutters, and screens. This is because the panels for entrance doors and kitchen doors are painted separately and independently. Color prices for entrance doors and aluminum panels or kitchen doors cannot be given as a percentage, as they vary depending on the color, the paint shop, and even the time period when the painting is done. An approximate price for the charge of colored panels is the surcharges for roller shutters and screens.

Paint Shops and Prices for Colored Aluminum Frames

Color charges for doors, windows, roller shutters

The prices for colored aluminum frames vary dramatically depending on the paint shop chosen by the aluminum frame manufacturer to paint the profiles, roller shutters, screens, and entrance doors of our home. The aluminum frame manufacturer can choose to paint the profiles within the company that produces them (e.g., Europa, Alumil, Etem, Exalco), or to take them unpainted and have them painted at an external paint shop. Prices for painting profiles, roller shutters, and screens are usually higher at the paint shops of the companies that produce them (e.g., Europa, Alumil, Etem, Exalco) than at external paint shops, which are usually more economical. Here, we must and need to know exactly where our products will be painted, because the painting of aluminum frames is a decisive factor for the protection and durability of our frames. Before purchasing colored aluminum frames, we should look for certified paint shops (especially in vulnerable areas) that guarantee the effectiveness of their paints.
