Coatings – Frame Colors

Fenestral has created an application (frame colors color charts) to help you match the color you will paint your home’s walls with the new frame colors

The main methods for coating aluminum profiles are:

SUPER DURABLE COATINGS

With super durable aluminum frame coatings (super durable paints), we ensure 3 times greater durability compared to simple coatings or anodized coatings. Super durable frame colors are considered essential, especially in areas near the sea (coastal areas – frames for islands) with increased sunshine, as they protect against discoloration observed in simple colors. See more in our article on super durable frame coatings

ELECTROSTATIC COATING

Electrostatic coating is the most popular coating technology. The coating (color) covers the surface of the aluminum profile with a special layer of polyester resins (powders) to protect the frame from corrosion and to provide the desired coloration. The color options are endless and offer:

  • Exceptional scratch resistance
  • High resistance to UV rays
  • Matte colors, Metallic colors, Textured colors
  • Available in many shades

WOOD IMITATION

Modern technology allows us to simulate wood colors on aluminum frames. This is achieved by hot transfer in a vacuum of a membrane with wood grain onto already painted aluminum profiles. This way, we get wood imitation colors

SEA SIDE CLASS

Essentially, this is not a type of coating but a treatment applied to the profile surface, and it is a very effective way to protect aluminum frames located near the sea or in heavily polluted environments from Filiform corrosion. This specific pre-treatment includes a double, alkaline and acidic attack on the metal before the electrostatic coating of the profiles. Fenestral, using Europa aluminum profiles, provides this specific treatment free of charge on all profiles.

ANODIZING

Anodizing transforms the surface of aluminum, artificially creating an oxide layer (rust). Because the process is carried out under perfectly controlled conditions, this oxide layer (mm thick) is very cohesive and hard. Since this layer is already an oxide (rust), when exposed to the atmosphere, it does not corrode, thus protecting the metal much better. This type of coating offers very limited color variety. Another disadvantage is the low scratch resistance of the frames, which makes it difficult to manufacture roller shutters, etc.

All Fenestral (EUROPA) aluminum frames have QUALICOAT and QUALICOAT Seaside Class (No. 105) certificates (frame colors color charts), which constitute the highest quality guarantee. The color options will satisfy even the most demanding customer, and you can view them in the color charts
